![]() ![]() Yuma School District #1 Governing Board has agreed to allocate $50,000 to the middle school interscholastic athletic program for the 2010-2011 school year. While this amount will not fully fund our programs, it will relieve some of the burden of fundraising from our Parent Athletic Support Group. We still encourage contributions through the Arizona Tax Credit Program, donations from community service groups, support from local businesses, and the pay-to-play contribution of $20 per player per sport.
We will offer four sports for girls (softball, basketball, soccer and volleyball) and four sports for boys (wrestling, soccer, basketball and flag football). Games are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. Parents must provide transportation for away games.
We require athletic physicals for participation in after-school sports. A copy of the physical examination and the health history must be on file in the school office prior to students beginning practice.
