Welcome to Gila Vista Jr. High School
Welcome to Gila Vista Jr. High School, where Every Student Counts and “we just can’t hide that Monster Pride!”
Gila Vista serves approximately 600 students in grades 6-8. We believe these years are a critical time for students to discover who they are, how they learn, and what they are capable of achieving. Our goal is simple: every student should be known, supported, challenged, and prepared for what comes next.
Our approach to Personalized Learning (PL) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) recognizes that every student learns differently while maintaining high expectations for all. Through strong relationships with teachers and staff, students learn to set goals, understand their strengths and needs, monitor their progress, and take greater ownership of their learning. Every student deserves a coach, an advocate, and an adult who believes in their potential.
We provide a well-rounded education through rigorous academics, AVID, music, athletics, the arts, special education, English learner supports, intervention, enrichment, and before- and after-school opportunities. Across every program, we work to develop confident, independent learners prepared for high school and beyond.
Most importantly, we believe education is a partnership. Parents, families, and community members are essential to our success. We invite you to stay connected, prioritize attendance, maintain high expectations, celebrate growth, and become actively involved in our school community.
Together, we Believe in our goals, Commit to the work, and help every Monster reach their potential.
